The forth edition of the Black & Decker Drill Machine Race is going to be held in Hilderheim, Germany this 14th of october and promises to be a nice display of the creative use of mechanic wisdom. The Goal of the race is to complete a 150m long course using a common drill machine as power source. The 12 teams formed by students of different colleges in Germany and in Switzerland Compete against each other at the race as well as on creativity of the final vehicle design. The participation of my friends from the School of Design Offenbach will for sure make things Rough for the other teams. I have seen the first tests from their vehicle and can tell its fast! But until the race day, top secret!

This is one of the nicest sections of the skateboard film “Yeah Right!” (2003) by The Girl Skateboard company. With the help of director Spike Jonze (Adaptation) the film combines great skateboard action with creative scenes. This section along with its awesome music serves as inspiration for me before going skating. Hope it inspires you too.
Algorithim meets BMX feat. Jochen Leinberger

I got a chance to be modified in an experiment made by my friend Jochen Leinberger, who wrote a small program that reads each pixel of and image and transforms it into a geometry shape (in this case, a sphere) and scales it in coorelation to its color value. Its similar of what a photoshop filter does, the diference is that his program can generate a vector graphic file (.SVG) of the result which can than be endlessly scaled and even be sent to a CNC mill Machine.
Jochen is experimenting with scientific phenomens, digital processes and aestetics questioning the frontiers of algorithims and the real world.
And I am trying to convince him to create some algorithim skateboard graphics. Until that happens, I suggest everyone interested to keep track of his thoughts on his website Explorative Environments

Lets Evo has always been a fan of crazy fellows that give up normal life in the persue of breaking records. But this is really crazy. I’ve got to throw my hands up for Dani Wyss, from switzerland, who won this year’s the Race Across America pedaling 4910 kilometers in just 9 days, 11 hours and 50 minutes. What really makes me feel sick is the fact that he only slept 11 hours during these 9 days. Amen

Last week I got the chance to go to Friedrichshafen in south of Germany for the Eurobike 2006. As promissed before I have put a website together with all the pictures I made there. It was very nice event with a lot important companies, nice dirt jump and bmx freestlyle action and a very nice atmosphere between business madness, exotic bikes and german beer. During my stay there I got the chance to chat with a lot of people that are doing some really interesting products and also breathe some of the action going on outside at the Dirt track and the Bmx Flatland floor.
Among the nicest things that I saw here are some that are worth to taking a closer look:
Amazing beautiful Waldmeister Wood Bicycle Frame
Custom made seats for your - the negative design off your “behind” from GebioMized (Uni Münster)
Bionicon on-the-fly variable geometry bicycles
Scott´s pro rider Niki Gudex crosscoutry bike (If I had a wife, that would be one of her bikes)
Stonedigger - Graduation Project from Ralf Tröger at Centurion Bikes (Collaboration rules!)
